The Paperless Route To Rocky Bee, paperless does not mean using no paper at all. But you can certainly use less. Have you ever received more than two bundles of literature mailed separately but containing the same material or something nearly the same. It can easily happen when you order products from more than one division in a company. You pick up the phone to inform them but can't get connected because their lines are always busy .Eventually you give up and don't even try to contact them the next time the same things happen. It's easy to criticize but many of us don't have to look around much to see tremendous waste of paper. When the area around the shredder becomes a good chat area and boxes and boxes of marketing material are thrown out each time your product line changes or is updated you are seeing a situation which doesn't merit applause. For most of us, the attachment we have to paper probably started when we were given our first sketchbook or notebook and pencils. We have allowed ourselves to become quite dependent on its use and too casual about wasting it Apart from environmental issues, overuse of paper may point to redundancies and weaknesses in business systems. You can't avoid doing your expense report after being on the road for several weeks but you certainly can ask why receipts have to be so big to the extent that you can only get two or three of them onto an A4 size piece of paper. The worst situation is when you get a lot of "buts and why you cannot replace a certain system which uses an unnecessary amount of paper". You may have identified the waste but someone who could be a colleague or a partner does want to change. These days electronic storage devices are much cheaper than what it was a few years ago and a variety of other reasons should allow you to persuade others to at least give your idea a chance.Very often you may need to initiate an effort in becoming paperless and not only suggest but actually produce or put in place an alternative system. Solutions offered by Rocky Bee include publishing of digital magazines and use of digital marketing material. If your office is located in the Tokyo Area, consulting services can also be provided.Rocky Bee can be contacted at sales@rockybee.com.
